A look inside
Four things a relaunch must not forget
From the guide, in brief. The workbook in the kit turns each point into a table you can tick off.
Relaunch or optimisation?
Six signs side by side. By our rule of thumb, three or more in the relaunch column usually justify a rebuild – below that, optimisation is the more honest route.
What you secure first
Google keeps Search Console data for 16 months. Whatever is not exported before the rebuild is missing from the comparison afterwards.
A target for every URL
Permanent redirects with 301 or 308, kept for at least a year – as Google recommends. Never everything to the home page.
Three comparisons after
After one week, four weeks and three months: the same metrics, periods of equal length, clicks with and without your company name kept apart.
The sources
Where the figures come from
Google's guidance on site moves with URL changes and on redirects, the statement on how long Search Console keeps data, the Core Web Vitals thresholds from web.dev, the W3C's WCAG 2.2 and the Swiss UCA, FADP and CO. The full list with date and reference is on the last page of the guide.
Who it is for
For managing directors and marketing leads in Swiss SMEs who are planning a relaunch or reviewing a quote for one. No expert knowledge needed, only access to Search Console – or someone who has it.
