IT outsourcing
You want to run your business, not chase updates, licences and the question of why the printer on the second floor has stopped answering again. IT outsourcing means we take over the running of it and you keep the decisions.

In short
IT outsourcing means an external partner takes on work an in-house IT department would otherwise do — operations, maintenance, security, support and procurement. For a Swiss SME this is rarely all-or-nothing: the common arrangement is that operations go out and decisions stay in. What is outsourced belongs in the contract; what is not written there is not outsourced.
- Running and monitoring the systems
- Updates and security patching
- Users, devices and permissions
- First and second-line support
- Procurement and licence management
What we take on
In full or in part — where the line sits belongs in the contract, not in a hunch.
- IT outsourcing
- External IT department
- IT operations
- Servers and network
- Workstations and devices
- User management
- Licence management
- Patch management
- Monitoring
- Support line
- Procurement
- Documentation
- Disaster recovery
What you get out of it
The benefit is rarely where the proposal puts it:
- One contact instead of three numbers
- A predictable monthly cost instead of timesheets
- Faults surface before anyone calls
- Documentation that reads without us
- No knowledge lost when someone leaves
- Security patching happens without being asked
- Procurement without weekly price comparisons
When outsourcing is the right move
Not for every business — usually in these cases:
- 10 to 50 workstations and nobody doing IT as their actual job
- IT depends on one person who also has something else to do
- A day of downtime costs more than a month of support
- A change is coming: a move, a cloud migration, a new site
- An audit or a customer requires demonstrable IT security
How we work
Inventory
We look at what is actually there — devices, licences, contracts, access. Without that list every proposal is a guess. It is yours afterwards, whether or not we work together.
Draw the line
What goes out, what stays in. That question drives both price and friction. We write down both, including what is expressly not included.
Handover
Access, monitoring, documentation. Operations are not interrupted — the handover runs in parallel until everything is mirrored.
Operations
A fixed fee, a named contact, a monthly report of what happened. Including the months when nothing did.
Development
Twice a year we sit down: what caused friction, what is coming, what can go. Otherwise IT only ever grows.
Common questions
Price follows three figures: number of workstations, number of servers, and the agreed response time. We calculate per business and state what is not included — a low base price with many exclusions costs more in the end than a higher one with a clear scope.
No — provided three things are in the contract: the documentation belongs to you, the credentials stay in your possession, and the exit is described. A provider who dodges those three is not selling a service, they are selling a dependency.
The handover is orderly or it does not happen. We take over access, documentation and running contracts and work in parallel until nothing is missing. A hard cut only happens if the incumbent forces one.
Yes, and that is the normal case. Often the line-of-business application stays in-house while workstations, security and support go out. Where the line sits belongs in the contract.
Response time is in the contract and differentiated by urgency. More important than the commitment is prevention: a large share of faults surfaces in our monitoring before anyone calls.
Why ALPENIQ
We are not a pure IT firm. ALPENIQ IT is one of five divisions — alongside website, brand, automation and software. That is not a sales line but a practical difference: when your stock system needs to talk to your online shop, that is not somebody else's subject here, it is one floor down in the same house.
And we run our own IT by the same rules. What we recommend to you runs here — not as a reference, but because otherwise we would not know whether it holds.
You know there's more in your business.
Thinking higher starts with a conversation.
30 minutes, honest and concrete: we look at where your company stands digitally, and which step moves you forward fastest right now.
