A Google listing was all there was online.
Auto Union in Flawil has traded quality used cars for over a decade. People found the business — but there was nowhere for them to go next.
Scope of the collaboration
- Brand foundation
- Website
- AutoScout24 integration
- Ongoing support
The starting point
A family business built over years on referrals and walk-in customers. The Google listing was there, so people found the location and the opening hours. After that, it stopped.
What was missing was not a logo, it was the entire brand: no positioning, no colours, no typeface, no imagery — and no website a search result could lead to.
That is not an oversight, it is the norm in Swiss trades. It only means there was no before to improve. There was only an after that had to be created.
The brand first
Without a brand, a website turns out pretty and still generic. So the starting point was not a layout but the question of what Auto Union stands for.
What emerged is a brand board: logo, colours, typeface, imagery and the rules for using them. It belongs to the business and can be used without us.

Then the website on top
A brand foundation
Logo, colours, typeface, imagery and the rules for using them — captured in a brand book the business owns and can keep using without us.
The website
Purchasing, used cars, about, contact. Designed mobile-first, because that is where people search when they are standing in front of a car.
Live vehicle inventory
Auto Union trades via AutoScout24. Instead of building a second catalogue someone would have to maintain twice, the website shows the existing inventory directly. A vehicle is entered once — where it is entered anyway. The smaller scope was the right one here.

Where things stand today
The project turned into an ongoing collaboration. Auto Union comes to us with technical questions, not only website topics.
From service provider to IT partner — that is what we measure this collaboration by.

They did not disappear once the site was finished. When something comes up, I get in touch and I get an answer. By now they are our IT people, not the company that once built the website.
Also starting from zero?
A Google listing without a brand and without a website is a starting point, not a disadvantage. We build the presence that fits your business — not the one that presents best.
