When every order costs 30 per cent

Delivery portals bring orders and keep a share of them. Swiss Takkos wanted its own channel — with the same convenience, without the commission.

Scope of the collaboration

  • Website
  • Ordering web app
  • Payment integration
  • Full-stack development
The starting point

The most expensive channel is the most convenient one

Uber Eats and Just Eat solve a real problem: they bring customers who would not have found the business otherwise. In return they take a commission per order — on the thin margins of food service, that is the difference between profit and busywork.

The bitter part: the better a business does, the more expensive the channel becomes. Regulars who would come back anyway order through the portal — and cost money every single time.

The approach

Not against the portal, but alongside it

An own ordering route only works if it is just as easy. Anyone forced to create an account first, or who reaches checkout and finds no payment method they use, goes back to the app.

So no half solution: a complete web app with menu, basket, order flow and every common payment method. No download, no compulsory registration.

The portal stays for new customers. The own channel takes those who already know the business — and there no commission applies.

The work

What came out of it

  • The website

Offering, location and opening hours — the entry point for everyone arriving through search.

  • The ordering app

Menu, basket and order flow as a web app. No download, no forced registration.

  • Payment, completely

Every common payment method connected. One missing option is enough to make someone abandon.

Where things stand today

Website and ordering app are in use.

There are no order-volume figures here — those sit in the business's point-of-sale system, and we do not publish numbers we did not measure ourselves. The value of an own channel is easier to state than to measure anyway: whatever is ordered directly costs no commission.

Are you paying commission on customers who already know you?

We work out with you at what order volume an own channel starts to pay for itself.
